Salt fog and spray testing is an environmental testing procedure performed on products and materials to replicate the conditions of an ocean exposed atmosphere. The test measures the corrosion of materials when exposed at a predetermined cycle in a chamber to elevated temperatures, wetness and salt solution. The test can be used as a research tool, quality control check, specification requirement or to simulate field service.
