Low-Temperature Testing capabilities at ARDL include low-temperature bend, brittleness, compression set, retraction, Shore A durometer, torsional stiffness and Youngs Modulus at low temperatures. Many of ARDL’s tests can be performed -40ºC or below, depending on the specification. One specific test, Low-Temperature Retraction, allows for rapid measurement of the crystallization effects of materials. The test is a measurement of the retraction of material by 10% (TR10) and the temperature at which the material retracts by 70% (TR70), which is when crystallization tends to occur may correlate with low-temperature compression set.
